SIGNINGS, APPEARANCES
I was honored to be a guest of The Reader’s Guide Bookstore in West Salem on Tuesday April 12th. The lovely owner, Jennifer Schreiber set up a table with a bouquet of flowers and made sure there were cookies and punch available for everyone who came by. I had a wonderful time signing and talking with readers (and writers) who stopped in. Afterward, I had a chance to visit a little with Jennifer, Samantha Hafner, Kim Mainord and Hillary Houha, who are truly terrific people.
Thank you, ladies, readers, and everyone at Reader’s Guide!!
If you’re looking for a signed book in my series, and live in the Salem, Oregon area, head over to The Reader’s Guide in West Salem. They are an awesome new/used bookstore and even have signed copies of my books in stock!
My next signing will be May 31st at Powell’s Books in Beaverton, Oregon.
You know who else will be at that signing? People who write these books:
I am SO EXCITED for this event! I’m even working on a couple prizes to give away.
And on that note…just wondering…what was the most memorable thing you ever got at a signing/author event?

I’ve never actually been to a signing event. But I’ve discovered that if I follow enough blogs, there’s usually an opportunity to win stuff. The only thing I’ve ever won was an ARC from Ilona Andrews website, which I thought at the time (and still do) was the coolest thing. I live in a pretty big city, but most of the authors I follow don’t ever seem to show up for signings. Maybe some day, but for now I’ll settle for following blogs.

OK, I have been to a few signing but never won anything. I am excited about going to Portland in May!! If you do a giveaway I would LOVE a knitted Stone or something else you have knitted. I don’t knit and it would be better for everyone in my family if I don’t try to start anytime soon…..I have problems following patterns which leads to my kids learning interesting words and phrases…..:)

The most memorable thing I ever got at a signing event? Time. Time where you can listen to the author speak about their book and writing process, what inspires them, what works and does not work for them. Time to talk about the writing process, talk out ideas to help improve your own writing process. Time to let the author know what you truly love the most about the way they write, whether it is specific scenes, character development and progression, plot development and progression, or anything else that comes to mind. My personal time is so limited, it is a true gift when I can take the time to attend a signing event and be inspired by listening and, if I am lucky enough, speaking with an author.
