Catching My Breath

January went by in a blur, and I’m almost shocked it’s well into February. This happens to me every year, it seems. The hubbub of December rolls into January filled with plans, goals, and projects. Let’s not forget the never-ending renovations/improvements/repairs to yard and home. (Did we remove 13 raised garden beds last weekend and use it and other random rocks and whatnot to fill behind a retaining wall we built? Yes, yes we did.)

Then, boom! It’s February and I feel like I still haven’t gotten my 2021 feet under me yet. What usually happens is I poorly manage my time in February and don’t get nearly enough writing done.

But this year? Well, I’ll have you know…it’s pretty much the same. Ha! Here I am, already halfway through February. I better make some changes real quick-like if I want to hit all those 2021 writing goals I made in January.

Current Work in Progress: WAYWARD MOON, book #2 Souls of the Road. I’ve had a heck of a time getting the right beginning on the story, and I still don’t think I’ve nailed it. But it’s outlined, and moving forward, and I want it done by the end of the month.

Next Project: Either NOBODY’S GHOUL, book #7 Ordinary Magic, or WAYWARD SKY, book #3 Souls of the Road. I’ll decide which after I finish drafting WAYWARD MOON.

Next Release: WISH UPON A STRAW –my short retelling of Rumpelstiltskin in Once Upon a Wish anthology. That comes out February 15th! I was very excited to play with the Rumpelstiltskin fairy tale, and sort of love how it turned out.

GIVEAWAY: I am giving away one hand-knit toy each month in my newsletter. How do you win? If you’re signed up to my newsletter, just look for an email (or read the newsletter) telling you you’ve won! (I’m using a random number generator to pull a winner each month).

If you aren’t signed up for my newsletter–maybe do that soon? I’ll be giving this guy away on the 18th of February.

Can’t wait for new stories! Also, hoping I win your knitted project. Although, Darryl might fight me for him. 😉

Love the Souls of the Road opener and very excited to see where it goes! Sending you good writing juju to help you get there! Ordinary has been a favorite place of mine to escape to and I especially love that I can see myself in the locations you write about-so keep those coming!!!
