Frog in the Neighborhood
For the last couple weeks, I’ve thought I’ve heard a frog at my window. We never have frogs in our yard. In all the years I’ve lived here, we’ve had wayward cats, dogs, skunks, possum, snakes, squirrels, raccoons, a variety of birds and butterflies, snails and slugs and bugs, but never frogs.
Every time I went outside to get a better listen…the croaking stopped. I decided it was just a starling mimicking a frog’s croak. But when I walked outside last rainy Wednesday, the frog was croaking, right in our bushes! To be fair, I think it was over the fence in the neighbor’s yard in the adjoining bushes, but man, that frog sounded happy, croaking away the morning.
In honor of my wee neighborhood froggy, I knit one to give away in my newsletter. This is the first knit toy giveaway of 2022. Last year I knit and gave away nine toys (you can see them here). This year I’m hoping I’ll actually knit one per month. We shall see.
Anyway, if you want a chance to win this wee knit frog, just sign up for my newsletter. The newsletter goes out almost monthly, has updates, random fiction excerpts, book reccomendations, and also hand knit toy giveaways. This month’s newsletter should go out January 29th, PST.
